Fundraising Manager

We are seeking a highly organised, efficient and dynamic individual to take on the brand new role of Fundraising Manager, co-ordinating core and strategic fundraising for The Rivers Trust, supporting and facilitating the Senior Management Team. We have had considerable success with securing project funding, and have achieved rapid growth in headcount and delivery as a result, but we need to increase income for core functions such as HR, IT, finance, communications and project development. We take a team approach to fundraising and income generation, so you will be working with others, but you will also need to take a lead on some projects on your own.

You should ideally have excellent people, planning and project management skills, with a proven track record in charity fundraising. You will also have a strong commitment to our mission and a good understanding of environmental issues.

Principal roles and responsibilities:

  • Securing additional core, unrestricted funding of at least £250,000 p.a. for The Rivers Trust from a range of sources including individual donations, legacies, philanthropic foundations and corporate sponsorship
  • Managing the administration of these funding awards including application forms, supplying bank details, grant agreements and reporting on outputs/outcomes as required
  • Co-ordinating meetings of the existing Income Generation Working Group and following up on actions
  • Devising and co-ordinating fundraising events/initiatives for staff, members of the public and our corporate supporters’ staff
  • Develop and maintain the fundraising and income generation strategy and plan
  • Take responsibility for implementation of our new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system (Access) across the organisation
  • Report on progress quarterly to the Senior Management Team and the board of Trustees as required
  • Ensuring The Rivers Trust's compliance with the fundraising codes for the UK and Ireland

This is a full-time, home-based, permanent position (subject to ongoing funding). We offer flexibility around working hours - time off in lieu is also available. We offer 25 days holiday pro rata (rising to 28 days) plus statutory holiday days. We pride ourselves on being an equal opportunities employer and we welcome applications from all communities. We are happy to adjust for people with disabilities and/or caring responsibilities.

The role is a grade 4 position with a starting salary of £39,037, plus benefits including 9% employer pension contribution.
