We are Tyne Rivers Trust, the only environmental charity dedicated to looking after the iconic Tyne and its tributaries. We work to improve the Tyne rivers through education, reducing pollution and practical conservation.
The global pandemic, COP26 and recent storms have highlighted the importance of our environment and how we chose to live within it. Our work is increasingly recognised for its crucial role and we are now in a position to grow our team to deliver catchment-scale natured-based solutions that directly contribute to climate change resilience and increasing wellbeing for all within the catchment.
This an exciting chance to use your skills, experience and passion to help us carry out this vital work as well as the opportunity to contribute to our consultancy business, River Catchment Services.
The Role
To work with our enthusiastic, dynamic team, the local community and key partners at the sub-catchment scale. Our current projects cover rural and urban challenges in the Ouse Burn and River Don catchments including; natural flood management, fisheries improvements, innovative changes to land management and awareness raising of improvements individuals can make. Working with all sectors of the community to share best practice is key.
Responsibilities will include:
- Drive allocated existing projects forward
- Development of new opportunities and resolving barriers to progressing improvements at a sub-catchment scale
- Ensure and encourage a strong working relationship with key catchment stakeholders
- Ensure holistic delivery of high-quality practical improvements, engagement activities and collection of relevant evidence of impact that can be used to build confidence and develop future programmes of work.
Applications
We are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to work at the sub-catchment scale, leading the development and delivery of both multi-stakeholder programmes in both rural and urban environments.
You will have a professional, positive attitude and flexible approach to achieving consensus and moving practical delivery forward.
