Finance and Office Manager Manager

This is a 0.6 FTE role (3 days per week). About the Role The Finance and Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial health of the Aire Rivers Trust, ensuring efficient office operations, and supporting administrative functions. We are looking for someone with a combination of financial expertise and strong IT skills. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and office management tasks to ensure smooth business operations.This role is ideal for someone with a balanced background in finance and office administration, capable of managing multiple tasks, ensuring financial accuracy, and fostering an efficient and positive workplace environment. Farming and Land Management Project Assistant

Norfolk Rivers Trust’s ambition is to deliver catchment-scale change to our water environment. We are dedicated to protecting our watercourses from pollution, improving habitat and ecological functioning of streams and rivers, and enhancing resilience to climate change. Since our founding in 2011, the Trust has grown to a team of over 30 employees. Together, we are delivering major projects such as river re-meandering and floodplain connections, farming and land management advice, new constructed wetlands, species re-introductions and community engagement. The Farming and Land Management Project Assistant is an entry level position within the farming and land management team, supporting Farm Advisers and Project Officers in delivering Water Sensitive Farming’ (WSF) — an ambitious water stewardship initiative that benefits the catchments of Norfolk and the Cam and Ely Ouse. The role will develop skills in communicating and working with landowners to provide environmental advice, host engagement events and assist with the delivery of bespoke interventions. The main projects currently in operation include partnerships with WWF and their corporate partnership with Carlsberg, the Riverlands National Trust partnership, the Woodlands for Water project and the Courtauld 2030 initiative. Job Description The Project Assistant will work closely with Farm Advisors, Project Officers and the Comms and Engagement team to gain experience of all aspects of the team’s work. Work will consist of facilitating new farm visits, coordinating and supporting with engagement events, obtaining a variety of consents, assisting in site surveys and communicating successes with partners and stakeholders. The Project Assistant will be given formal training opportunities and mentoring to develop their skills towards more independent project officer roles. Principal Responsibilities: Assist with preparing information for farm visits and reports.Undertake site surveys and record data from site visits in online systems. Support the production of communications materials to further promote and develop the Water Sensitive Farming initiative.Assist with organising events and other farmer engagement tools aimed at improving awareness and sharing knowledge. Work effectively with members of the team to deliver project outcomes. Develop skills, knowledge and confidence to undertake more independent work. Project Manager

With support from Defra’s Species Survival Fund, we have launched a new programme of river improvement projects called Ribble Revival: Room for Rivers’. This programme has significant amounts of on-the-ground habitat conservation activities, with most having elements of volunteering and community engagement. These activities include tree planting, woodland maintenance, fencing, wetland creation, river channel habitat improvement, and fish passage, to name a few. Additionally, the Trust has initiated Community Catchments”, which has begun through support from the Environment Agency National Natural Flood Risk Management Programme and will see the delivery of three programmes of work to provide NFM benefits to Darwen, Clitheroe and Wrea Green. Delivered through leaky dams, peat restoration, and flood plain connection activities. This role will work with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver many of these projects and activities, both independently and through the supervision of contractors. The role will ensure that we create and maintain high quality habitats, ensure contractors work safely and in an environmentally sensitive way, and that projects are delivered in budget, to schedule, and involving the wider team, partners and stakeholders. As such, the Trust is looking to recruit a competent and enthusiastic person who will be joining a committed team, working towards making a positive difference to the riverine environment. This person will have knowledge of conservation project management, preferably technical environmental project management, linking data and evidence to delivery.
