This is a new and unique role giving the successful applicant the opportunity to support making a real difference to the rivers in the South East. Working closely with other members of the Restoring Rivers and Catchment Team, you will be managing and delivering projects to improve, protect and enhance our rivers. This is a fantastic chance to make this role your own, whilst contributing to improving our natural environment. What does the role involve? Projects vary in size and complexity and will involve different aspects of work to enhance our rivers such as weir removal, installing fish passages, creating natural habitats and creating wetlands. This role will be responsible for overseeing site operations liaising between Contractors, Project Managers and external Stakeholders to ensure work is delivered on time, safely, on budget and to a excellent standard. Whilst this is a hybrid role with time being spent in an office environment, either at home or in our office in Leatherhead, it is primarily active and outdoors. Who are we looking for? You will be an advocate of our natural river environment and have experience in site management within the construction industry, preferably delivering environmental projects. You will be someone who likes to get their hands dirty by getting physically involved in the work to improve our rivers. You will be happy to fell trees, work in rivers and on muddy banks supporting the delivery of our multiple projects. You will be flexible in your approach to working hours, with the ability to travel across the south east, multi tasking to ensure all your sites are being managed effectively, to deliver the projects. You will be able to manage initially one member of staff, but potentially, more in the future, as our organisation continues to grow. Community Engagement Trainee

If so, our new paid placement role as a Community Engagement Trainee could be for you! About the role This is a six-month paid training placement starting in May 2025 and is designed to be a launch pad for someone at the beginning of their career in conservation and/​or community engagement. As our Community Engagement Trainee, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience; supporting the delivery of community awareness work on invasive non-native species – a key issue affecting the health of watercourses and lakes in the Eden Valley and The Lake District, as well as Eden Rivers Trust’s practical volunteering programme and community events. These two key work programmes form part of our Access to Eden: Breaking barriers, building bridges partnership project supported by a grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. About you You will be a confident communicator who can make scientific concepts accessible to a wide variety of audiences and inspire them to take action to protect our waterways. At home working outdoors, you’ll be outgoing and comfortable approaching and working with people. The role requires regular travel to sites around the catchment so you will need to have a current, full UK driving licence. Senior Project & Partnerships Manager — Greater Manchester

Your role will be to develop projects designed to improve the health of watercourses in the Upper Mersey and Irwell catchments, contribute to reducing flood risk, and engage communities in caring for their local river. You will lead a team of two project managers, and work closely with a wide range of partners, stakeholders and communities (local authorities, other eNGOs, businesses, local community groups and volunteers) to deliver these projects. Much of our work is delivered in partnership with others; your relationships will be so close that it will often seem like you are colleagues in the same organisation. You will host the Upper Mersey Catchment Partnership, bringing key partners together to plan and deliver improvements to the rivers across the catchment (Rivers Tame, Goyt, upper Mersey, Bollin). This is an exciting time for us with multiple projects underway or in development. For example, we have just received a large donation to fund a 4‑year project to transform the River Tame, from its source to Stockport, where it joins the River Goyt to form the River Mersey. Part of your role will be to use this donation as a basis to leverage further funding to expand our river improvement programme.
