As our Trust matures and grows, we recognise the need to strengthen our board of Trustees, specifically with fundraising experience. Farm Advisor

Boyne Rivers Trust (BRT) is an environmental charity to the conservation and protection of the Boyne River catchment. The vision of the Trust is for a Thriving River Catchment, valued and protected by its communities’. The aim of the trust is to protect, enhance and restore the water bodies of the Boyne catchment through community-led projects and activities. Job Summary The Farm Advisor will work with farmers, across the Boyne catchment, to identify potential changes in agricultural and land management practices, intended to bring about improved water quality and freshwater habitats at a catchment-scale, whilst also benefiting farm businesses. The post-holder will undertake one-to-one farm visits, working with landowners to identify ways to reduce the risk and impact of diffuse and point-source water pollution from agriculture. This will be done through non-regulatory farmyard and field assessments to identify possible water protection measures and the production of bespoke farm water management plans. The Farm Advisor will also aim to raise awareness, improve understanding and acceptance amongst farmers and land managers of diffuse and point-source pollution from agriculture and its impact on water quality and the wider water environment. Engagement with farmers in the Boyne catchment will seek to create, through a voluntary approach, a sense of ownership and achievement within the farming community in relation to improving water quality and water dependent species and habitats in the catchments across the Boyne Rivers Trust’s operational area. Project Manager — Catchment Partnerships

As Catchment Partnership host in the SUNO (Swale, Ure, Nidd and Ouse) and WLO (Wharfe and Lower Ouse) catchments, Yorkshire Dales Rivers Trust are seeking an energetic, experienced and committed person to join our Senior Catchment Partnership Manager in managing and continuing to develop our Catchment Partnerships portfolio, across a diverse landscape of rural and urban river catchments. This exciting opportunity will include responsibilities for the strategic development and implementation of our two catchment partnerships known collectively as the Dales to Vales Rivers Network (DVRN). Our primary aim is to deliver the Catchment Based Approach and tangible on-the-ground improvements that achieve clean, healthy rivers which deliver social benefits for our communities. The successful candidate will have operational experience at catchment level. The candidate will take a strategic overview of both catchment partnerships and guide our growing Catchment Partnerships team, enabling the enhanced delivery of the four priority themes: – Stakeholder and Community Engagement, including the development of stakeholder groupsProject Development, leading to deliverySecuring funding for project development and deliveryKnowledge sharing, to bring people together in a way of working that is inclusive, collaborative, cross boundary and catchment wide. General Information The National Lottery funded A Wilder Walkmill’ project aims to improve Walkmill Community Woodlands, near Moresby, Whitehaven for people and wildlife and encourage greater use of this fabulous community resource. Walkmill Community Woodland is a vital and much-loved open space and is important because of its significant natural and industrial heritage. A Wilder Walkmill’ aims to improve access for all, create new and improved habitats to support nature recovery, increase volunteering opportunities, events and activities for the local community, and provide education sessions and forest schools. Job Purpose and Summary To carry out practical hands on’ conservation works at Walkmill Community Woodland and other areas throughout Cumbria. To gain relevant qualifications in countryside, environmental and land-based management studies – The Countryside Worker L2 Qualification — in partnership with a training provider (confirmation of college yet to be finalised). As part of the scheme, you will be expected to attend college classes for a week at a time at set times of the year or one day every fortnight.
