"Alarm bells are well and truly ringing - this report confirms that the government is largely off-track to meet its own ambitions and legally binding targets for nature. The slow pace of progress and imbalanced, insufficient scale of delivery to secure clean and plentiful water is a particular, if unsurprising, concern, and we can only hope that this report is one that finally prompts the government to take leadership and treat our nature crisis with the proper sense of urgency."
