Communications Assistant

We’re looking for a great communicator to bring our exciting Access to Eden: Breaking barriers, building bridges partnership project to life.

You’ll create and distribute engaging content across a wide range of digital and traditional media channels that will enthuse and empower target audiences to get closer to Eden’s rivers and nature. You’ll monitor the results to ensure that outcomes are met and refine future activity to create even more impact.

This could be an ideal first job in marketing and PR as the role holder will develop valuable skills by working across a variety of marketing disciplines, including digital, PR, events, internal communications, advertising and community engagement.

This role is a fixed term contract, 3 days (22.5 hours) per week until 31 December 2027

About you

You will:

- Understand how to effectively communicate with target audiences and be able to adapt your communication style to match a wide variety of identified audiences, creating meaningful content that resonates with them.

- Be creative – full of ideas on how to make our communications stand out from the crowd, able to turn them into engaging content that provokes action, but always with an eye for detail.

- Embrace variety – one day you could be creating graphics, editing film and crafting web articles, the next creating reels for socials and proofing an advert.

As a Trust we are Rethinking Rivers. For Good.

Based in Penrith, the post holder will work in the scenic rolling countryside of the Eden Valley and where it intersects with the north-eastern Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North Pennines.
