Access to Eden Project Assistant

We have a flexible position available for an organised individual who can provide good administrative support to a large complex conservation and engagement project, Access to Eden: Breaking barriers, building bridges, supported by a grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. This role is a fixed term contract, 2 days (15 hours) per week until 31 March 2028 About you Can you process financial paperwork, understand grant claims and reporting requirements, chivvy partners, work to the demands of a busy project manager, arrange meetings, and are happy to pitch in to support the wider team when the odd project delivery event or day gets a bit tricky? Head of Engagement (maternity cover)

Sustainable Agriculture Officer

Norfolk Rivers Trust is seeking a highly motivated individual to join their Farm and Land Management Team as a Sustainable Agriculture Officer, this exciting new role will help agri-business in Norfolk and the Cam & Ely Ouse catchments meet the target of producing fresh food with sustainable water management. The East of England is one of the largest producers of root vegetables, fresh produce, poultry and pork yet receives the lowest annual rainfall in the UK. Increasingly unpredictable weather patterns are causing significant challenges for sustainable food production. Heavy rainfall over short periods of time during winter often leads to high soil loss, water pollution and reduced aquifer recharge. Reduced storage of water in the aquifers together with drier, warmer summers can lead to greater water scarcity, a real concern for the UK food and drink sector. Through the Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP) and The Courtauld Commitment 2030 to reduce water stress, collective action is required to collaborate with other initiatives that are on-going in Norfolk to act as a catalyst for system changes in key supply chains. This role requires an individual with the ability to engage with growers, processors and retailers, facilitating knowledge exchange and promoting a shift to more regenerative farming practices. Job Description Principal Responsibilities Engage and collaborate with key supply chains to improve water use efficiency and sustainable food production.Identify and develop bespoke solutions to tackle water risks to agri-food businesses.Provide targeted farm advice across key sectors and deliver measures that protect soils, improve water retention and infiltration.Communicate wider biodiversity and improve the resilience to the water environment by implementing Nature-based solutions.Lead the water stewardship board with external stakeholders to develop policy, showcase private sector engagement and improve wider water security.Development of tools to improve understanding of water risks and solutions – amongst growers, producer orgs and retailers.Leverage in additional funding from WRAP signatories and other businesses or funds. Person Specification Education Minimum HND/​BSc in Ecology, Environmental Sciences, Geography or other Land Management related subject. Experience and knowledge Essential Clear commitment to vision and values of Norfolk Rivers Trust.Experience of working with agri-businesses and or food/​drink producers.Knowledge of agricultural production methods and industry drivers.Knowledge of key regional food and drink supply chains.Understanding of sustainable water resources management and local pressures.Exceptional listening and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence multiple stakeholders.Ability to build and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders.Good organisational and reporting skills.Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary organisation.Awareness of the need for confidentiality and sensitivityFull UK driving licence with own car covered by business insurance is essential. Finance and Grants Assistant

The Salary: £26,423 — £29,203 We have an exciting opportunity to join the South East River’s Trust’s Finance and Operation’s Team. The team supports the organisation with a broad range of financial and administrative tasks, to ensure its smoothed running, development and growth. The role would suit an individual with a financial background, who is approachable and organised, with excellent attention to detail, able to work on their own or as part of a team. The role will report directly to the Finance Manager and will provide support in administering all financial controls and processing for the organisation. The successful applicant will come from a financial background and have a strong understanding of financial principles with an accounting qualification. They will have experience in bookkeeping, reconciling accounts as well as dealing with banking, grant applications and expenses. Whilst this role focuses on the financial aspects of SERT, it will also play a key part in supporting with the set up of IT equipment, new financial systems and general IT queries, with help from our external IT supplier. To be successful, they will need to be able to multitask, have excellent communication skills and the ability to support and advise staff across all teams. They will need to have a positive attitude, be proactive and supportive in assisting the whole team with other administrative tasks as and when required. This role is predominantly working from home, with at least one day per week working in the office in Leatherhead. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a small dynamic team, sitting at the heart of the organisation, making a real difference for the environment and the rivers in the south east of England. This is a full time position, however part time working of 4 days per week (0.8FTE) would be considered.
