Communications Assistant

We’re looking for a great communicator to bring our exciting Access to Eden: Breaking barriers, building bridges partnership project to life. You’ll create and distribute engaging content across a wide range of digital and traditional media channels that will enthuse and empower target audiences to get closer to Eden’s rivers and nature. You’ll monitor the results to ensure that outcomes are met and refine future activity to create even more impact. This could be an ideal first job in marketing and PR as the role holder will develop valuable skills by working across a variety of marketing disciplines, including digital, PR, events, internal communications, advertising and community engagement. This role is a fixed term contract, 3 days (22.5 hours) per week until 31 December 2027 About you You will: — Understand how to effectively communicate with target audiences and be able to adapt your communication style to match a wide variety of identified audiences, creating meaningful content that resonates with them. — Be creative – full of ideas on how to make our communications stand out from the crowd, able to turn them into engaging content that provokes action, but always with an eye for detail. — Embrace variety – one day you could be creating graphics, editing film and crafting web articles, the next creating reels for socials and proofing an advert. About us Eden Rivers Trust is the conservation charity standing up for Eden’s rivers; changing the way they are protected, enhanced and used so that people and nature in Cumbria can thrive. The Trust, whose vision is Clean and healthy rivers, providing a brighter future for all, has been working with partners and volunteers since 1996, developing and carrying out innovative environmental projects that restore rivers, improve habitats, manage floods naturally and promote water-friendly farming. Access to Eden Project Assistant

We have a flexible position available for an organised individual who can provide good administrative support to a large complex conservation and engagement project, Access to Eden: Breaking barriers, building bridges, supported by a grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. This role is a fixed term contract, 2 days (15 hours) per week until 31 March 2028 About you Can you process financial paperwork, understand grant claims and reporting requirements, chivvy partners, work to the demands of a busy project manager, arrange meetings, and are happy to pitch in to support the wider team when the odd project delivery event or day gets a bit tricky? Head of Engagement (maternity cover)

We are seeking an experienced community engagement professional with a demonstrable track record of team leadership, inspiring education and engagement outcomes and successful grant fundraising. The Head of Engagement will provide maternity cover for approximately 13 months and work as part of the Senior Leadership Team at SERT to drive how we influence, engage and empower people and communities to value and protect rivers in the South East. You will bring passion for our cause and demonstrable experience in delivering inspiring outcomes from education and engagement projects and programmes. You will drive the further development of our Engagement Strategy with innovation and creativity, securing external funding to deliver against the Trust’s strategy and ambition.
