We’re looking for a great communicator to bring our exciting Access to Eden: Breaking barriers, building bridges partnership project to life. You’ll create and distribute engaging content across a wide range of digital and traditional media channels that will enthuse and empower target audiences to get closer to Eden’s rivers and nature. You’ll monitor the results to ensure that outcomes are met and refine future activity to create even more impact. This could be an ideal first job in marketing and PR as the role holder will develop valuable skills by working across a variety of marketing disciplines, including digital, PR, events, internal communications, advertising and community engagement. This role is a fixed term contract, 3 days (22.5 hours) per week until 31 December 2027 About you You will: — Understand how to effectively communicate with target audiences and be able to adapt your communication style to match a wide variety of identified audiences, creating meaningful content that resonates with them. — Be creative – full of ideas on how to make our communications stand out from the crowd, able to turn them into engaging content that provokes action, but always with an eye for detail. — Embrace variety – one day you could be creating graphics, editing film and crafting web articles, the next creating reels for socials and proofing an advert. We are seeking an experienced community engagement professional with a demonstrable track record of team leadership, inspiring education and engagement outcomes and successful grant fundraising. The Head of Engagement will provide maternity cover for approximately 13 months and work as part of the Senior Leadership Team at SERT to drive how we influence, engage and empower people and communities to value and protect rivers in the South East. You will bring passion for our cause and demonstrable experience in delivering inspiring outcomes from education and engagement projects and programmes. Norfolk Rivers Trust is seeking a highly motivated individual to join their Farm and Land Management Team as a Sustainable Agriculture Officer, this exciting new role will help agri-business in Norfolk and the Cam & Ely Ouse catchments meet the target of producing fresh food with sustainable water management. The East of England is one of the largest producers of root vegetables, fresh produce, poultry and pork yet receives the lowest annual rainfall in the UK. Increasingly unpredictable weather patterns are causing significant challenges for sustainable food production. Heavy rainfall over short periods of time during winter often leads to high soil loss, water pollution and reduced aquifer recharge. Reduced storage of water in the aquifers together with drier, warmer summers can lead to greater water scarcity, a real concern for the UK food and drink sector. Through the Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP) and The Courtauld Commitment 2030 to reduce water stress, collective action is required to collaborate with other initiatives that are on-going in Norfolk to act as a catalyst for system changes in key supply chains. This role requires an individual with the ability to engage with growers, processors and retailers, facilitating knowledge exchange and promoting a shift to more regenerative farming practices. Norfolk Rivers Trust’s ambition is to deliver catchment-scale change to our water environment, protecting our watercourses from pollution, improving habitat and ecological functioning of streams and rivers, and enhancing resilience to climate change. It’s an exciting time for the Trust, having expanded to a team of 30 since its inception in 2011. We are currently delivering major projects such as river re-meandering and floodplain re-connections, providing farming and land management advice, establishing new constructed wetlands, reintroducing species, and engaging with the community. The Rivers Ecology team, comprised of six dedicated members, undertakes consultancy work on behalf of Norfolk Rivers Trust, with all profits donated to the Trust. With our workload on the rise, we are now seeking an organised, self-motivated and experienced ecologist to join our team. The successful applicant will primarily be completing baseline habitat surveys to support landscape recovery projects. Additionally, they will undertake protected species surveys and habitat assessments to contribute to the various exciting projects underway at Norfolk Rivers Trust and Rivers Ecology.
